Printer is one of the most important hardwares in office. People use printer to print documents, copy files, send files and do other things. So no matter which type of printer you are using in windows 10, keeping the printer working is important. If you upgrade the system from Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 to Windows 10, the most pleasing thing is that when you upgrade to windows 10, your printer can work properly.

Before you read this slightly more complex steps, you can try to use automatically way to update printer drivers.
Step 1: Check my system version.
On desktop, right-click "This PC" and choose "Properties" from the pop-up menu. So you will enter the computer system.
From this interface, It shows my system is Windows 10 Pro, it is not important. The system type is importantly, it determines what kind of drivers we will download. I use the Windows 10 64-bit operating system.
Step 2: Download HP LaserJet M1522nf Printer Windows 10 drivers
First, use Google to search the driver.
Then click the first result to enter the HP official drivers download page.
From this page, choose the right driver language and the right system. Here we choose the English and Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit) items.
After you finished these items, it will show downloading lists of the drivers, fireware and other software.

This page provides two driver versions options, we need to choose the recommended option "Use the driver that is currently installed", click "Next". And it start installing the driver for you.
So you can finish this step by click "Finish" button. To check if your printer is working properly, please click the "Print a test page" button. The printer will start printing a windows printer test page.
From the windows printer test page, you will see these words on the top in that you have correctly installed your HP universal printing PCL 6.
After you click the "Finish" button, it will pops to control panel page and shows the devices and printers. You will see the printers is listed on printers item.
The hook on the printer means this is the default printer. If the system detect you have only one printer, it will automatically set it as the default status.
Step 5: Finish driver installing.
After you have added the printer to the device list, the "HP Universal Printing Installer" will finish all works. It will tell you the printer installation is complete. Now click "Finish" button. You will finish installing the HP LaserJet M1522nf printer driver in windows 10.

Solve Incompatible Printer Drivers Problem After Upgrade to Windows 10
Sometimes, when you have an old printer, you will find it cannot work properly after upgrading current system to Windows 10, this is caused by the incompatible drivers. The previous printer driver only supports Windows 7, it do not supports Windows 10. So how to solve the incompatible drivers problem to make printer work is necessary.
How to install incompatible printer drivers on Windows 10
Step 1: Download the driver file.
If the latest version of the printer is only supports Windows 7, 8 and 8.1, download it to the local drive.
Step 2: Choose "Troubleshoot compatibility" menu.
Right click this menu, and it starts detecting the issues. The process will continue several seconds.
Step 3: Choose "Troubleshoot Program" option.
After detecting process, there will appear two troubleshooting options, choose the second one "Troubleshoot program" to customize your compatibility settings. The fist one option will not solve your problem.
Step 4: Choose the first option.
